The funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Cannon Funeral Home for Virgil B. ”Sonny” MAY, 72, of 1977 380th Ave., Goose Lake.
He died Wednesday at Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport.
The Rev. James MACHEN of Church of the Open Door will officiate. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thomas DERSHAM, Dave DODGE, Al KOAL, William OTTEN, Ross RETTKOWSKI and Willard PAGE.
He attended the Clinton schools.
He retired from the Climax Foundry in Clinton. He had also worked with W.G. Block Co. in Clinton.
He was a member of the Salvation Army in Clinton.
Survivors include four daughters, Ethel MAY, Mrs. Connie (Rick) GREENE and Patty NYLON, all of Clinton, and Mrs. Debra (Thomas) DERSHAM of Albany, Ill; two sons, Ronald MAY Sr. of Goose Lake, and David MAY of Clinton; two stepsons, Robert and Virgil DICK, both of Clinton; 28 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Judy MAY of Clinton, Janice GIDDINGS and Joyce STODDARD, both of Sabula, and Lorraine BOYERT, of Manassass, Va.; a brother, Clifford MAY of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, a great-grandchild, a brother and four sisters.
