A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Episcopal Church for Mabel M. MABEE, 87, of Clinton. She died Wednesday at Bluff Terrace. The Rev. Celine BURKE will officiate. There will be no visitation. The body will be cremated., Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Nov. 14, 1910, in Dubuque, to LaRue and Mabel MULLEN STATES. She married Willard MABEE, May 31, 1928 in Galena, Ill. He died in 1980.
She was a 1928 graduate of Dubuque Senior High School. She was employed with Neubauer Darr and Redman as a Secretary for more then 18 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jan LECHNER of Oak Forest, Ill., and Judy EVANS of Griffin, Ga.; a son, Daniel MABEE of Clinton; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rua SPENCE of Monroe, La.
She was preceded in death by a grandson and three sisters.
