Services for William R. LEVIEN, 100, of Wheatland, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Wheatland. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery, Dixon.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Home, Wheatland, with a Pythian service at 7 p.m.
Mr. LEVIEN died Saturday, Aug 8, 1998, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home, Wheatland.
He had worked for A.S.C. Services of Scott County, retiring in 1962. He also farmed in the Dixon area in his early years. He moved to Wheatland in 1957.
Mr. LEVIEN was born Feb 13, 1898, to Carl and Wiebke FELTNER LEVEIN in Maysville. He married Eleanor MEYER on Aug 24, 1921, in Davenport. She died Sept 21, 1992.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Wheatland; a 50-year member of the Knights if Pythias, receiving the degree of golden spur, receiving the distinguished service award; and a member of the Grand Lodge of the Knights of Pythias.
He also had served as mayor of Wheatland.
Survivors include a daughter, Elaine (Mrs. Harlan) MUHL, Wheatland; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Mae WULF, two sons, Wesley and Paul, a granddaughter, five sisters and three brothers.
