Charles Meyer
1929 - 2002

Charles E. Meyer, 73, Cedar Rapids, died Dec. 18, 2002, at his home.
No services or visitation will be held. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Meyer had taught in Iowa and Illinois schools and later worked on developing seismic profiles for an oil company. He was a medical courier for Smith, Kline and Beecham, and during the last several years, started his own courier business in the transportation of medical specimens between area medical labs, offices and hospitals.
He was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Clinton. During World War II, he served in the Navy stationed at Brunswick Naval Air Station as a radio operator. He served on aircraft patrolling the coast from Greenland to Boston in search of submarines.
Survivors include Marian Tannebring, and husband, William, Beverly Mass., Lauretta Bigelow, and husband, John, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and David Meyer, Brentwood, Mo.
