Laverne Andersen 12/17/1998 MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Services for Laverne E. Andersen, of Maquoketa, will be 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Maquoketa. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Carson & Son Funeral Home, Maquoketa. Mrs. Andersen died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998, at Maquoketa Care Center. Laverne Schmidt was born Oct. 12, 1914, in Elwood. She married James Andersen in 1935 in Maquoketa. They farmed five years north of Delmar and then farmed west of Preston until retirement in 1978. He died in 1995. Memorials may be made to Laverne Andersen Memorial Fund. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Rodriquez, Dallas; sons, Robert "Bob," Maquoketa, and Donn, Chicago; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
