SAVANNA, Ill. — E. JoAnn Remrey, age 69, of Savanna, Illinois, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, Savanna, with Reverend Larry Thomson officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Online condolences and memorial tributes may be given to the family at www.lawjonesfuneralhome.com.JoAnn was born March 27, 1939, in Hammond, Illinois, the daughter of Asa and Julia (James) Barr. She is a graduate of the Savanna High School with the class of 1957. On May 3, 1959, JoAnn married Philip Remrey in Savanna. A proud, loving grandmother, JoAnn enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s activities with her family. She also enjoyed spending time with friends; was an avid reader; bird watcher; and collected Santas and angels. JoAnn was a member of First United Methodist Church, Savanna, the Savanna Women’s Club and the “Gutter Gang.” She worked for Stout’s Pharmacy, Savanna; and years earlier for Hogan’s Pharmacy, Savanna, and local restaurants including Florence Graham’s. JoAnn will be dearly missed by her husband, Philip, of Savanna; a daughter, Deborah Todd of Mt. Carroll; three sons, David Remrey of DeKalb, Illinois, Randy (Carol) Remrey of Mt. Carroll and Doug (Christine) Remrey of Sugar Grove, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Steve Bearsely, Shawn, Jacob and Scott Remrey, Jessica, Andrea and Kelsey Todd; two brothers, Charles (Ann) Barr of Fulton, Illinois, and Lawrence Barr of Morrison, Illinois; and a sister, Virginia Long of Naperville, Illinois. JoAnn is preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Bill and Glenn; a sister, Betty Miller; and a son in-law, Doug Todd.Death date: June 9, 200
