HOFFMAN, Loran L. Jr.
Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory for Loran L. HOFFMAN Jr., 80, of 1215 Seventh Ave., Camanche.
He died Saturday at Bluff Terrace.
There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated.
He was born Jan. 1, 1918, in El Reno. Okla., to Loran L. and Jeanette PHILLIPS HUFFMAN Sr. He married Jeanette NELSON, Aug. 18, 1946 in Clinton.
He was a 1936 graduate of Clinton High School and attended the University of Iowa.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps.
He had been employed as a I.B.E.W. electrician for Chicago & North Western Railroad from 1946 to 1981.
He was a 50-year member of I.B.E.W. Union, a past member of the Moose and Clinton A.M.V.E.T.S. He was the commissioner of Honeywell Field when it was first built, and was active in coaching Clinton Junior Baseball.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda HOFFMAN of Franklin Park, Ill.; three sons, Larry, Phillip and Loren HOFFMAN III, all of Clinton; three grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Jane BROWN of Clinton.
Death date: May 30, 1998.
