HOENICKE, Jens C.
Jens C. HOENICKE, 72, Goose Lake, died Friday in Mercy Hospital, Clinton.
Funeral services for Mr. HOENICKE will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Elvira Lutheran church, the Rev. Roger HOPPENWORTH officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Irvin PERSEN, Merle EICKETT, Delbert CHRISTIANSEN, Keith JENSEN, Kenneth MILLS and Casey HOENICKE. The body will be taken Monday noon from the Pape Funeral Home to the church. Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. HOENICKE was born Aug. 28, 1899, In Haltstedt, Germany, son of Herman and Bertha HENSEN HOENICKE. He came to the United States with his parents in 1903. He farmed in the Goose Lake area until he retired in 1964.
Mr. HOENICKE was married Feb. 10, 1931 in Clinton to Miss Johanna CHRISTIANSEN.
Mr. HOENICKE is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Bernita) WING , of ???? THILLMONY of Spragueville; one brother, Harold HOENICKE of Reddick, Fla; one sister, Mrs. Johanna PETERSEN of Clinton; 10 grandchildren and four great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
