Camanche - Harry M. HARKSEN, 82, Route 1, Camanche, longtime DeWitt resident, died Monday at Jane Lamb Hospital after a long illness.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McGinnis Funeral Home, DeWitt, with the Rev. Glenn TROST of Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mr. HARKSEN was born Nov. 30. 1892, in Clinton County, the son of Martin and Pauline PETERSEN HARKSEN. He married Kathrene GRIEBEL June 21.1922, in DeWitt. He was a self-employed floor sander and refinisher before moving to Camanche five years ago.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lois) BUSS, Paso Robles, Calif.; three sons, LaVerne, Rock Island, Lawrence H., Davenport, and Wayne, Camanche; 16 grandchildren, and a brother, J. L. HARKSEN, Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, five brothers and three sisters.
