HARKSEN, Delbert L.
Delbert L. “Whitey” HARKSEN, 84 of 2728 Cleveland St., died Thursday in his home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Pape Funeral Home with the Rev. Boyd ELLEFSON officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 9 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John GOOS, Howard HUIZENGA, Denzil BARNHILL, David MOHR, Robert SHEPARD and Ronnie PETERSON.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Teresa ANDERSON, Randy HARKSEN, DeeAnna HAGG, Kimberly BIELEMA, Robyn SCHUTTE, Jeff HAGG, Jeff BIELEMA and Cindy HARKSEN.
He was born Feb 6, 1914, in Goose Lake, to Peter T. and Helena A. KRUSE HARKSEN. He married Marian SLEEPER, Nov 12 1936, in Clinton.
He was employed with the Savanna Ordinance Depot for several years, and as production operator with E.I. DuPont Co., retiring in 1976 after 29 years.
He was a member of Lutheran Faith Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Allen R. HARKSEN of Morrison, Ill.; two daughters, Helen A. HARKSEN and Evelyn (Charles) SCHUTTE both of Clinton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and five great-step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
