The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Chancy Lutheran Church for Gene H. FLESNER, 68, of 1132 10th Ave. N. He died Thursday at Genesis Hospital East, Davenport. The Rev. Donald SONDROL will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Pape Funeral Home, and from 1 p.m. until the service time Sunday at the church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Beatrice, Neb. Pallbearers will be nephews.
He was born Jul 14 1929, in Beatrice, to Erich and Matilda BEHRENS FLESNER. He married Modena DELL, Oct 7, 1950, in Holmesville, Neb.
He was a veteran or the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He had been employed as a salesman with Lutheran Brotherhood Life Insurance from 1960 to 1990, and prior to that a dairy farmer in Virginia, Neb. He was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church and a past member of the Clinton Life Underwriters.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Pennie (Don) PETERS of rural Clinton, and Mrs. Barbara (Perry) BETHEL of Ankey; four grandchildren; and three brothers, Donald FLESNER of Houston, Texas, Vernon FLESNER of Tacoma, Wash. and Roger FLESNER of Beatrice. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a brother.
