Mary Ann FICKLING, 88 of 849 13th Ave. North, died Sunday at the Alverno Health Care Facility. The funeral will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cannon Funeral Home with Chaplain Joan SNODGRASS officiating. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetery, Dubuque.
She was born May 30 1909 in Dubuque, to Charles and Ida PAPIN ROBINSON. She married Dorian FICKLING, Feb 2, 1974 in Long Beach, Calif. He died in 1991.
She was educated in Dubuque schools. She was a graduate of the University of Southern California, and was a dental hygienist for 53 years in Long Beach, Calif. She also worked as a model and photographer. She was a world traveler and worked on the hospital ship Hope and traveled to Nicaragua in 1965. She had resided in Iowa since 1993.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Jane BISSON of Clinton, four nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death , two brothers and a sister.
