FULTON, Ill. — Betty Decker, 82, of Fulton, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at the Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, IA. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Merchant, pastor of Trinity Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, will be officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, until the time of the service at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL. Memorials may be made to Trinity Reformed Church, Fulton, IL. She was born January 28, 1926, in Clinton, IA, to Antonio and Delia (Watkins) Speakman. She was educated in Clinton grade schools and was a 1944 graduate of Clinton High School, Clinton, IA. She attended Omaha State University, Omaha, NE. She married Marvin E. Decker on December 21, 1946, in Clinton, IA. He survives. She was employed by Swift’s and the Clinton Garment Company, Clinton, IA. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, where she was involved in Ladies Aid and the Hannah Mission Circle. She taught Sunday school and was a girl’s league sponsor at church. She was also a founder of the church’s newsletter. She loved to sew, knitting, reading and baking. Survivors include her husband, Marvin; one son, Chris (Jolene) Decker of Camanche, IA; two grandchildren, Heather Decker, Jason Decker; one great-granddaughter, Demi Zigler; and one brother, Joseph Speakman of Nevada.
