CLINTON — Virginia Hildebrandt, age 77, of Clinton, died Tuesday May 13, 2008, at Bluff Terrace Nursing Home in Clinton. As per her wishes, cremation rites have accorded. Memorial services will be held Saturday 2:00 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home. A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday 12:30 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Virginia was born on March 25, 1931, in St. Louis, MO. She came to live with her adoptive parents, Frank and Lillian Allender, in Clinton in 1937. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1949 and married Emil Hildebrandt on Sept. 20, 1949 in Clinton. She worked at the Nielson Clearing House and at JC Penney. Virginia is survived by her three sons, Gary (Maryann) Hildebrandt of Anamosa, IA, Eric (Julene) Hildebrandt of Clinton and Terry (Teri) Hildebrandt of Sabula, IA; and six grandchildren, Briton, Jeremy, Erika, Benjamin, Tierra and Neveah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Larry and Kevin, a grandson, Travis, and two brothers, Maurice and Frank. She thoroughly enjoyed visits from her family and friends, who were always welcomed at her kitchen table with a fresh pot of coffee.Death date: May 13, 2008
