DEWITT — Ron Andresen, 47, Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, died Wednesday evening, May 14, 2008 in Charlotte, as the result of a traffic accident. Ronald Edward Andresen was born December 10, 1960 in DeWitt, to Eugene and Madeline (Thomas) Andresen. Ron was a graduate of Northeast High School, Goose Lake. He farmed in the DeWitt area with his father for six years, until moving to Charlotte, North Carolina. In Charlotte, Ron owned and operated Charlotte Waterproofing. He met and married Brenda Childress while there, and the couple had a son, Wyatt who is now 11. Ron cherished the time that he was able to spend with Wyatt, his “Buddy.” Ron was an avid NASCAR fan, loved John Deere Machinery and farming. He was a great fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He was proud of the fact that Dale took Ron for a ride in his race car and Dale let Ron drive. Ron lived life to the fullest, was extremely generous, had many friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving in addition to his son, Wyatt, are Ron’s parents, Eugene and Madeline Andresen, DeWitt; siblings and their spouses, Gloria and Larry Heiar, Bryant, Iowa, Sandi and David Deke, DeWitt, Mary Jo and Allan Behrens, Clinton, Iowa, Bill and Corina Andresen, DeWitt, Lynn and Robbin Andresen, Charlotte, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding Ron in death were an infant brother, Joseph, a brother, Robert and his grandparents. The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, with the Rev. Fr. H. Robert Harness officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations for Ron's son, Wyatt's education may be sent to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Andresen 421 9th Avenue DeWitt, Iowa 52742. Pallbearers will be Bill Andresen, Lynn Andresen, Tim Heiar, Ryan Behrens, Cody Schumacher, Zachary Andresen, Nathan Andresen and Perry Spain.
