MORRISON, Ill. — Eleanor J. Schipper, 89, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, died Friday, May 9, 2008, at the nursing home. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, with the Rev. Philip Stel, Associate Pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.Memorials can be made to Resthave Nursing Home and Mercy Hospice. She was born February 13, 1919 in Morrison to Henry and Fannie (VanDyke) Medema. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. She married Henry E. Schipper on September 26, 1939, in Morrison. He died December 11, 1998. She was employed with General Electric in Morrison, for 15 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church, where she was involved in the Lydian Society. She was a member of the Resthave Nursing Home and Morrison Community Hospital Auxiliaries. Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Mrs. David) Hook, Morrison, and Beth (Mrs. Gary) Milnes, Morrison; a son, Harvey Schipper, Morrison; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Marian Houzenga, Fulton, Ill.She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; a daughter, Jerri Lynn Wilson; a granddaughter in infancy; a sister, Betty Schipper; and two brothers, Joseph and Alvin Medema.
