CLINTON — Dorothy J. Welch, age 93, of Clinton, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Dorothy was born on May 16, 1914, in Lankin, N.D., the daughter of Thomas and Clara (Kjorlie) Welch. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1932. She received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Iowa, Masters Degree from University of Northern Iowa and Doctorate from Colombia University in New York. She was an elementary school teacher and consultant with Long Beach Elementary School in California. She retired in 1988. Dorothy is survived by her two sisters, Claranell Munck of Clinton and Ann (Charles) Sapovits of Douglassville, PA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.Death date: May 6, 2008
