CLINTON — Celeste M. Condon, 98, of Clinton, and formerly of Fort Dodge, died Monday, March 3, 2008 in Clinton, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8th, in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, in Fort Dodge, with Rev. Lynn Bruch officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where there will be a vigil service at 5:00 p.m. and a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Surviving are her daughters, Mary Lou (Gary) Jondle of Port Townsend, WA, Carmen (Gary) Rolfes of Clinton, IA, Joan (Dennis) Eittreim of Laguna Hills, CA; a son, Dan (Patsy) of DeWitt, IA; daughter-in-law, Maureen of Banning, CA; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William J. Condon; and brothers, Melvin, John (Jack), Kenneth, Mark and Maurice. Celeste was born in Clare, IA, May 19, 1909, the only daughter of William and Mary (Donahoe) Hood. She married John F. Condon June 12, 1934. They farmed in the Barnum area until moving to Ft. Dodge in 1954. John died in 1994. Celeste moved to Clinton, IA, in 1997 and made her home at the Regency Retirement Residence and most recently at the Bickford Cottage. Celeste graduated from St. Matthews in Clare and St. Catherine’s College, St. Paul, MN. She taught a year in a one-room school house in Clare and several years at Corpus Christi Grade School in Ft. Dodge. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge and traveling, usually to visit family. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters for over 50 years. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Death date: March 3, 2008
