DEWITT — Maxine “Mickey” Knight, 87, DeWitt, died Friday, February 15, 2008, in her home. Maxine “Mickey” Lucille Waugh was born November 1, 1920, near Elwood, Iowa, to the late Charles and Celia Waugh. She married Robert E. Knight March 21, 1941, in DeWitt. He preceded her in death February 14, 1990. Until her retirement, Mickey worked for 20 years at Scott Snyder Drug in DeWitt. Mickey was a member of the DeWitt United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Circle. She belonged to the Bunco Club, several card clubs and a birthday club. She is survived by a son, Douglas A. Knight and his wife, Connie, Eldridge, Iowa; a sister, Opal Kanneberg, DeWitt; a grandson, David Knight, Los Angeles, California; a granddaughter, Christine Jones and her husband, Casey, Nicholes, Iowa; six great-grandchildren, Meghanne, Collin, Gavin and Aubrey Knight and Brock and Jada Jones. In addition to her husband, Mickey was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Eric, a sister, Thelma Miller, and three brothers, Melvin, Myrle and Verlyn Waugh. Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2008, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Chuck Kelsey presiding. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
