FULTON, Ill. — Charles H. “Chick” Kettler, 92, of Fulton, died Thursday at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Fulton Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Rev. Bruce Wilterdink, interim pastor of First Reformed Church, Fulton, officiting. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service Monday at the funeral Home. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery.He was born December 06, 1915, in Ustick Township, Whiteside County, to Claus and Grace Voss Kettler. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and graduated from Fulton High School 1935. He married Marian Vogel on October 21, 1937, in Fulton. She died in 1989. He was employed by CB and Q Railroad and by the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years. His last 10 years of service was as an assistant postmaster, retiring in 1978. He was a member of First Reformed Church, Fulton, where he served as deacon and church treasurer. He was also a charter member and long time secretary and treasurer of Fulton Sportsman Club. He was also a charter member of the Fulton Country Club. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Mrs. Charles Jr.) Miller – Fulton, and Mary Beth “Becky” (Mrs. Kent) Sneller, Sioux Center; one son, James (Paula) Kettler, Omaha, Neb.; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one brother: Clarence Kettler, St. Louis, Mo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian; two sisters, Louise Faber and Janet Wiebenga; and one brother, Alfred Kettler.
