PORTLAND, Ore. — Miss Irma B. Deletzke, 95, Portland, Oregon, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, Gresham, Oregon, following a brief illness. Irma was born October 1, 1912, in Adair, Iowa, the daughter of the Reverend Alfred H. and Emma M. (Grovert) Deletzke. She graduated from high school in Charlotte, Iowa. Irma attended business college and worked in Iowa, before moving to Portland, in 1938 where she began her 39 year career at U.S. Bancorp. She worked in the Employee Relations department and earned the distinction of becoming the first woman vice president of U.S. Bancorp. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Portland, for 70 years. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Irma in death were her parents; sisters, Ada (Ben) Geri, Elsie (Charles) Everett, Florence (Harold) Thenhaus and Thelma (Marvin) Andresen; brothers, Alfred W. Deletzke and Norman E.H. (Ada) Deletzke. A funeral service was held was held at Zion Lutheran Church, 1015 SW 18th Avenue, Portland at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10th, 2008. Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008. A service of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, in the funeral home chapel. Dr. Rebecca Wiese, diaconal minister will officiate and John Andresen will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Loaves and Fishes Centers or Concordia University.
