Ella C. Ingwersen 1863 - 1892

The Clinton Herald Monday March 16, 1892 p. 5 Miss Ella C. Ingwersen, aged 78, died Sunday in LaCrosse, Wis., where she had made her home the past 50 years. She was superintendent of the hospital of that city during that time. The body will arrive here Wednesday morning and will repose in the Pape funeral home where friends may call until service time that afternoon. The funeral will be held at 3 o'clock in the funeral home with the Rev. Frederic G. Williams of Grace Episcopal church in charge. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Ella, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter B. Ingwersen, was born Dec. 30, 1863 in Bryant. Her early life was spent in Bryant and Sabula. She was the first president of the LaCrosse county Nurses association, and at a banquet held in May, 1941, in her honor, she was voted a life membership in the board of directors of the district association. She is survived by two sisters, Miss Hattie Ingwersen of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Laura Magnussen of Omaha, Nebr., and a brother, Gustav Ingwersen of Maine.
