The Clinton Herald Thursday August 23, 1906 p. 6 Charles J. Hobein died at his home in this city at 12:50 yesterday morning. During the past year he had been in poor health and had been confined to his home since June 11. The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Hobein and was born in Lyons June 20, 1866. Nineteen years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Belle Stevenson of Fulton, Ill., and to them were born one son, Clyde and one daughter, Irene who besides his parents are left to mourn. Aided by the tireless efforts of a loving wife and children he made a brave fight for life but all human aid proved unavailing and he passed away at the hour stated. During the past few years Mr. Hobein had been associated with his father in the furniture and undertaking business. He was known as a man of strong convictions and had many friends by whom his loss will be greatly felt. The sincerest sympathy of all is extended to the family in their bereavement. The deceased was a member of Lyons Lodge no. 61 I.O.O.F., of Pioneer Camp No. 1, M.W.A., and of the Hustlers, and had but recently allowed his membership in the K. of P's. to elapse. The funeral services will be held at the home at 3 p.m. Friday, Rev. C.A. Riley officiating, will be in charge of Lyons Lodge No. 61 of the Odd Fellows.
