The Clinton Herald Friday April 27, 2001 p. 9A Betty J. Martensen, 73, Clinton, died Thursday at Mercy North Hospital in Clinton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Horst Hehr officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends of Betty Martensen. She was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Clinton to Martin and Anna Rasmussen Claussen. She attended elementary school in Omaha, Neb., and graduated from Lyons High School. She was employed at Clinton Wire and Cloth Co., Burpee Seed Co., and was a receptionist at the Clinton Humane Society. Survivors include her sisters, Roma Rost of Omaha, Agneta Charvat of Clinton and Mrs. Jean (Arthur) Leonard of Clinton; her brother, Walter Claussen of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister. Death date: April 26, 2001.
