The Clinton Herald Thursday January 7, 1950 p. 15 Arthur H. Bather, 84, of 1302 Camance Ave., died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday in Mercy hospital, where he had been a patient about 2 hours. The body will be taken from the Bragonier-Fay chapel to the family home where friends may call beginning at 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at the family home at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Harold Putney, pastor of the First Congregational church will officiate. DeMolay Consistory will conduct the Rose Croix service at the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. A life-long resident of Clinton, Mr. Bather was born here Sept. 16, 1875, the son of John R. and Jane Sipperly Bather. He was married to Gleyn Crapser, June 23, 1908. He was associated with the J.R. Bather florist company until his retirement. He was educated in the Clinton public schools and was a member of Emulation Lodge 255, A.F. and A.M. DeMolay Consistory and the First Congregational church. He is survived by his widow, 2 daughters, Mrs. L.W. (Virginia) McKinley and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Ford, Kansas City, Mo.; 6 grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Bather of Clinton, and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
