The Clinton Herald Wednesday August 17, 1955 Oliver W. Haring, 76, died at 3 a.m. today in his home in Camanche. He had been in the contracting business in Clinton for the past 45 years. The last few years he served at appraiser and inspector for G.I. homes. The body is in the Bragonier-Fay funeral chapel where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with Rev. Leroy Carter, pastor of the Camanche Baptist church officiating. Oliver W. Haring, the son of William and Emaline Myerly Haring, was born Sept. 21, 1878, in Greenwich, Penn. He came to Clinton with his parents 70 years ago. For the past 11 years he has lived in Camanche. Mr. Haring was educated in Clinton schools. He was married to the former Nettie Cousins on May 21, 1904, who died in 1927. On Nov. 12, 1930, he was married to Ruth Dannatt. He was a member of Western Star Lodge 100 A.F. and A.M., the DeMolay consistory and Clinton Elks lodge. He was director of Clinton Federal Savings and Loan association. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Frank Kell, of Clinton; one granddaughter, Dr. Ann Kent, of Houston, Tex.; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Ralph Haring, of Low Moor; and three sisters, Mrs. Kate Kearney, of DeWitt, and Mrs. Hannah Turner and Mrs. Alice Woods, both of Clinton. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
