The Clinton Herald Monday August 8, 1955 p. 11 Mrs. George Kruse, 71, died late Sunday afternoon in the home of a son, Arnold, at 118 S. 6th St., where she had made her home since her husband died July 11. She had been in failing health for several months. The body is at the Snell funeral home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. M.S. Bredow, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Wa-Tan-Ye club members will meet in the funeral home today at 7 p.m. to pay respects. Charlotte Elizabeth Brieter was born April 5, 1884, in Clinton, the daughter of John and Amelia Brieter. On Jan. 21, 1903, she was married to George Kruse. She had been confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lester (Mamie) Hopkins of Clinton; two sons, Arnold and George E. of Clinton; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry of Clinton and Peter of Minneapolis; and two sisters, Mrs. John (Marie) Hayes and Mrs. Merrill (Freda) Campbell, both of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers.
