The Clinton Herald Saturday August 6, 1955 p. 8 Mrs. Alva F. Rixen, 85, died at 3 p.m. Friday in her home in Charlotte. She had been in ill health for four days. The body is in the Shadduck funeral home, where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. The former Lucy Myers was born in Bryant Sept. 16, 1869, the daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Myers. She has always lived in Clinton county. She was married to Alve F. Rixen on Nov. 14, 1899. They farmed for a short time and then moved to Clinton, where they lived for 49 years. Survivors include one son, Earl, of Clinton, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her husband preceded her in death in 1948. Other survivors include one brother, Joseph Myers; and two sisters, Mrs. Doris Struve and Mrs. Ella Struve.
