The Clinton Herald Saturday April 11, 1953 p. 8 J.C. (Chris) Clausen, 67, senior member of the Clausen and Wulf hardware firm, died suddenly Friday evening after a heart attack in his home at 122 1/2 S. 4th St. He had been associated with the firm at the same address since 1903. Friends may call at the Dalton funeral home. Services will be held Monday. Rose Croix services in the funeral home at 2 p.m. and religious services at 2:30 p.m. in St. Stephens Lutheran church with Rev. Ellert Nielsen officiating. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Mr. Clausen was born Oct. 14, 1885, in Clinton to Mr. and Mrs. Chris C. Clausen. His parents died when he was a child and he was reared by Mr. and Mrs. P.C. Wulf. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Stephen's Lutheran church and married Agnes Wulf June 5, 1919. He was a member of the Western Star lodge, A.F. and A.F., the DeMolay Consistory, the Kaaba Shrine of Davenport, the Izaak Walton league and the Builders club. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Harold W. and George C., both of Clinton; a daughter Mrs. David F. (Anna Marie) Sink, Cristobal, Canal Zone; and a step brother, V.V. Sorenson, Clinton. His parents and foster parents preceded him in death.
