The Clinton Herald Saturday November 5, 1994 p. 9 The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zorning Funeral home for Frederick L. Gerke, 81, of 2312 Wallace St., who died Friday in his home. The Rev. Fred Schauer of Chancy Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be David Stites, Harold Gardner, William Iversen, Kenneth Anderson, Gene Welsh, Marvin Brown and Ray Darda. Mr. Gerke was born Aug. 18, 1913, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Joseph and Margaret Lanen Gerke. He married Josephine Cramblet, July 15, 1967, in Fulton. He was a 1936 graduate of Iowa State University with a civil engineers degree. He worked at Clinton Corn Processing as a mechanical engineer for more than 31 years, retiring in 1977. Mr. Gerke was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy, where he was a full lieutenant from 1942 to 1946. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose 363 and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Georgia Voorheis of Morrison, Elizabeth Gerke of Rockford, and Mrs. Jim (Lynn) McGraw, Mrs. David (Janet) Brown, and Mrs. Ed (Jolene) Burnett, all of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frank (Margaret) Mulqueen of Pasadena, Calif. He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers. Death date: Nov. 4, 1994.
