CLINTON — Wilma H. Snell, 95, of Clinton, died Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the Alverno Healthcare Facility in Clinton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Wilma was born on June 2, 1912, in Clinton, the daughter of William L. and Amanda (Hansen) Hagen. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1930 and worked as a legal secretary for many years. She married George H. Snell on May 29, 1935, in Davenport, Iowa; he died October 17, 1981. Wilma served on the board of directors of the Clinton Art Association, Clinton Country Club Auxiliary and Clinton Country Club Ladies Golf Association. She was a member of the Agatha Auxiliary, Jane Lamb Hospital, Clinton Humane Society, Clinton Art Association and was a former member of Grace Episcopal Church in Clinton. She enjoyed painting, antiques, golf, bridge, ceramics and photography. Survivors include her son, Gregory Snell; one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter, 2 brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
