MORRISON, Ill. — John W. “Wes” Reynolds Sr., 84, of 514 Christopher Street, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, February 3, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church, Morrison, IL. The Rev. Michael Selburg, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Morrison, IL, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL. He was born January 4, 1924, in Garden Plain Township, IL, to Lee Wesley and Emily (Senior) Reynolds. He was educated in rural Whiteside County grade schools. He was a 1942 graduate of Erie High School, Erie, IL. He married Edna I. Cross on June 8, 1947, in Garden Plain, IL. She survives. John worked as a dairy farmer for many years in rural Whiteside County. He later was employed by the Northwestern Steel and Wire Company, Sterling, IL, for 15 years until retiring in 1986. John enjoyed playing cards, camping and traveling with friends and family. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Morrison, IL, where he served as an elder. He also served as a member of the nominating committee of the Blackhawk Presbytery at Stronghold. Survivors include his wife, Edna; one daughter, Jacque (Rick) Schantz of Grand Rapids, MI; four sons, the Rev. John (Cynthia) Reynolds Jr. of Brooklyn, IA, Charles (Linda) Reynolds of Chesapeake, VA, Ken (Karen) Reynolds of Sterling, IL, and Dave (Raeann) Reynolds of Savanna, IL; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
