WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Joseph M. Yegge, 59, of Walla Walla, Washington, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, died suddenly Monday, January 28, 2008, as a result of heart complications which tragically ended his life.Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeWitt. Reverend H. Robert Harness will preside. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 8, from 3 to 7 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, DeWitt. Joe’s final resting place will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, DeWitt. Joe was born June 29, 1948, in DeWitt to Henry and Margaret “Peg” (Wulf) Yegge. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Yegge; 4 daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Dennis Groom of Meridian, Idaho, Angela and Davie Davis of Milton-Freewater, Oregon, Marcia and Clint Walters of Pendleton, Oregon, Lea Yegge and boyfriend, Drew Walker, Walla Walla, WA; grandchildren are Hannah and Hunter Groom, Jessica and Danielle Davis, Trenton Walters and Audrey Ann Walker. He loved spending time with sisters, Ann Baker, of DeWitt, Iowa, and Mary Wengert, of Booneville, Iowa, and their husbands. He cherished his nieces and nephews. His family also includes stepmother, Arvilla Yegge, of Las Cruces, NM; stepsister, Sandra Carstensen, of Las Cruces, NM, and stepbrother, Larry Carstensen of California; and his uncle, Louis Yegge of Illinois.Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
