The Clinton Herald Wednesday July 17, 1929 p. 5 Mrs. Jane McDaid, widow of the late George McDaid, former business man and mayor of Clinton, died Tuesday night at West Suburban hospital, Oak Park, Ill., where she had been a patient for the past eight weeks. A complication of diseases, resulting from an attack of the flu two years ago, caused a long illness and her subsequent demise. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. D.F. White, 4202 Washington boulevard, Chicago. These services will be conducted by the Rev. Walter Shoemaker, Parish dean of St. Barnabas Episcopal church of which Mrs. McDaid was a devoted member. The funeral party will arrive in Clinton Friday afternoon and Mrs. McDaid will be laid to rest beside her husband in Sprindale cemetery. Interment will be private, the Rev. Dr. Horton of St. John's Episcopal church officiating. Jane Dixon was born in Clinton August 30, 1868, the daughter of James E. and Margaret Dixon. She was married to George McDaid of this city who preceded her in death twenty-five years ago this summer. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. White, with whom she had made her home for several years, and two brothers, Charles E. Dixon of Clinton and W.H. Dixon of Bettendorf. Mrs. McDaid was a beautiful girl and woman and in recent years had given much of her time to Episcopal parish work in Chicago where her graciousness was an influence in the lives of many children she contacted
