The Clinton Age Monday November 30, 1891 p. 4 Last evening at about 5:30 o'clock the spirit of Mr. H.P. Hobein took its flight. He had been ill for some little time, but nevertheless his sudden death was somewhat unexpected, as he had been considered as slightly improved for the past few days. Mr. Hobein was one of the old settlers of this city and the news of his death will be learned with regret by his many friends here. He was a good citizen, a kind and considerate parent and his loss will be felt indeed by the community. Mr. Hobein was born in Germany, Aug. 29, 1816; in 1854 he moved to Rock Island, Ill., and in 1855 removed to Lyons and commenced the furniture business the year following. He was married to Miss J. H. Flugg in 1842, who died in this city, Dec. 8, 1878. He leaves four children, Wm. C., Charles A., Henry A., Mary, (now Mrs. Geo. Buechner.) The funeral will probably be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
