CLINTON — Delcena Ewing, 95, of Clinton, passed away January 26, 2008, at her home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes, Lyons Chapel, with the Reverend Nathaniel Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. A private burial will follow. Delcena was born July 10, 1912, in Rock Island to George and Henrietta Rice Garland. She graduated from high school in Rock Island. She was employed with Mercy Medical Center as the manager of the laundry department. She married Louis G. Martin in 1929 in Clinton. He preceded her in death. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and traveling. She is survived by her two sons, Milton Martin of Clinton and Gregory Martin of Portland, OR; two daughters, Vonette (Larry) Allen of Rantoul, IL, and Joye Brantley of Clinton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, three sons, one daughter, one brother and one sister. Death date: Jan. 26, 2008
