CLINTON — James Francis Gassman passed away on January 23, 2008, in his house. He was born August 25, 1926, in Clinton, Iowa, to Elizabeth Klein Gassman and Joseph W. Gassman. They preceded him in death as well as his son, Jonathan J. Gassman; his three sisters and one brother. Survivors are Shirley, his wife, Pamela Maresca, Victoria Gassman, his daughter-in-law, David and Laura Gassman, Paul and Susan Gassman, Christopher Gassman, Thad and Deborah Gassman, Jorese Gassman and Samuel Gassman. There are 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother and sister-in-law, George and Dalores Gassman live in Iowa City. The body was cremated and a private family memorial is to take place. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Death date: Jan. 23, 2008
