DAVENPORT — Ellen L. Benson, 93, of Davenport, formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at Genesis West Hospital, Davenport. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Ellen was born October 16, 1914, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde E. and Clara Young Willits. She married Harold Benson March 25, 1931, in Morrison, Illinois; he died March 6, 1993. She was a homemaker. She had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Survivors include daughters, Mary Utsinger of Davenport, IA; and Susan (Rick) Lawson of Elkhart, Indiana; son, Steven (Sue) Benson of Elizabethtown, KY; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Susan Kennedy of Clinton; and brothers, Robert Willits of Florida and Edward Willits of Clinton, IA.
