The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church for Harriett Howes, 87, formerly of 726 S. 12th St., who died Tuesday in Ridgecrest Health Wing, Davenport. The Rev. Leslie Pritchard will officiate. There will be no visitation. Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwight Price, John Ringdahl, Robert Burger, William Sims and Edward and Brian Howes. Miss Howes was born May 19, 1899, in Clinton, to Richard and Mary Lou Springer Howes. She was executive secretary for the Clinton United Way for 30 years, retiring in 1976. Prior to that she worked for Kiwanis International, Chicago, for 20 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Circle VII. Survivors include a nephew, John Howes, of Bettendorf; and a niece, Mrs. Wayne (Alice Howes) Sands, of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
