The Clinton Herald Thursday February 9, 1961 p. 13 Wayne L. Shadduck, 60, funeral director in Clinton for many years and widely known breedere of Arabian horses, died at 6:30 a.m. today in his home on Hauntown Road. A funeral director here since 1921 and a breeder of horses since 1949, Shadduck was active in civic affairs. As an Arabian horse raiser, he had come into contact and become friends with famous persons all over the United States. Mr. Shadduck was born Oct. 4, 1900 in Miles, the son of Willis J. and Grace Darling Walker Shadduck. He moved to Clinton in March of 1909 and was married April 12, 1932 to Mildred Bull of Morrison, Ill. He was a member of Lyons Lodge No. 93, A.F. & A.M.; DeMolay Consistory; Kaaba Shrine; Lyons Lodge No. 61, I.O.O.F.; Lyons Emcampment No. 21, I.O.O.F.; Fidelity Lodge No. 19; Odeon association; American War Dad's Chapter 13, Clinton Horseman's association; Lyons Club; Chamber of Commerce; National Funeral Directors association; Clinton County, Old Settlers association and the iowa Funeral Directors association. He was also a member of the Lyons Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, two sons, Jack and Hugh, both of Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey (Audrey) Soderstrom of Clinton and Mrs. Ernest (Gladys) Lutz of Boston, Mass.; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Shadduck funeral home.
