The Clinton Herald Monday June 16, 1958 p. 11 Herman Jepsen, 83, of 1008 Pershing Blvd., died in his home today following a two week illness. Services are planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. M.S. Bredow, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. The body reposes in the Snell-Smith funeral home until noon, Wednesday, when it will be taken to the church. Herman Jepsen was born April 6, 1875 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the son of Jurgen and Margaret Rathje Jepsen. He was married to Elise Peters March 1, 1905 near Miles, Iowa. He had farmed near Sabula for 30 years before moving to Clinton 20 years ago. Survivors include his wife, three sons, Ernest, of Sabula, John F. of Clinton, and Erwin of Miles, one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Alice) Alt, Clinton; 10 grandchildren, one brother, John P. Jepsen, of Maquoketa; and one sister, Mrs. Alvina Andersen, Long Beach, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.
