The Clinton Herald Wednesday November 2, 1960 p. 11 C.L Bell, 75, of 436 5th Ave. S., a lifelong Clinton resident and president and co-founder of Lubbers and Belll Mfg. Co., died this morning in his home. The body is at the Bragoinier-Fay chapel where friends may begin calling at noon Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel, with Dr. H.J. Rendall of Morrison, Ill., former pastor of the First Presbyterial church, conducting the services. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Mr. Bell was born Sept. 17, 1885, in Clinton, the son of Charles F. and Louise Black Bell. He was a 1904 graduate of Clinton high school and attended Beloit college and the University of Michigan where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. In 1912 he joined with Albert Lubbers in founding the Lubbers and Bell Mfg. Co., and was president until his death. He was married Oct. 16, 1917, in Wilmington, Ohio, to Curtis DeMiller. She died April 14. Mr. Bell was a former member of the Jane Lamb hospital board, and for many years was active in Boy Scout work. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Priscilla Bell Andrews and a son, Charles E. Bell, both of Clinton; three granddaughters, two grandsons, and a nephew and cousin. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother.
