SABULA — Evalyn Elizabeth Haferbier, 86, of Sabula, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at her daughter’s home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes, South, 2610 Manufacturing Drive, Clinton. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Evalyn was born on June 12, 1921, in Clinton, IA, to Le-Roy and Arletta Lucille (Jordan) Crider. On March 13, 1940, Evalyn was united in marriage with Edward P. Haferbier in Iowa. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with everyone and watching Food Network. Evalyn is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Vosatka of Sabula, IA, Judy (Richard) Rutherford of Charles City, IA; her son, Gary (Joyce) Haferbier of Oxford Junction, IA; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Hebdon of Clinton and Lillian McKenrick of Camanche, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward, in 1985; her sister, Darlene Leab, a sister, Ramona White; a brother in infancy; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Death date: Jan. 2, 2008
