FULTON, Ill. — Thelma Brown, 92, of 12213 Sand Road, Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the Evangelical Free Church in Clinton, IA. Pastor John McClung, associate pastor of Evangelical Free Church, Clinton, IA, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Fulton, IL. Interment will be in Garden Plain Cemetery, Fulton, IL. Memorials may be made to the Victory Center, Clinton, IA. She was born August 21, 1915, in Santa Paula, CA, to John L. and Ada “Muzdale” (Woodford) Ragsdale. She was educated in California grade and high schools. In June of 1948, she graduated with her master’s degree from Wheaton Bible College, Wheaton, IL. She married Wallace O. Brown on June 18, 1950, in Cornettsville, KY. He died February 22, 2004. She was employed as the principal at the Open Door Children’s Home in Cornettsville, KY, for many years until moving to Fulton. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Clinton, IA, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed restoring old toys for children at Christmas time. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Van Zuiden of Albert Lea, MN; five sons, Lewis Brown, Bluffton, IN, David Brown, Davenport, IA, Dwight Brown, Camanche, IA, Maurice (Debra) Brown, Fulton, IL, Rayford Caudill, Bluffton, IN; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
