SAVANNA, Ill. — Robert John “Bubba” Hanson, age 59, of Savanna, Illinois, died Friday, December 21, 2007, at his home in Savanna. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon. Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Reverend Larry Thomson of the Savanna United Methodist Church will officiate. Friends may call form 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, Friday, December 28, 2007 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been established in Bob’s honor. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lawjonesfuneralhome.com. Bob was born on May 2, 1948, the son of Oliver S. and Hazel (LaShelle) Hanson, Jr. in Savanna. He graduated from Savanna High School, Class of 1967 and entered the United States Army serving as a Sergeant in Vietnam. Bob worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad and the Savanna Army Depot. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, camping, golf and billiards. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Baseball fan. But most of all he enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially sharing his great stories. Bob will be dearly missed by his daughter, Angela VanKampen of Savanna; a grandson, Andrew VanKampen; a brother, Oliver (Marsha) Hanson, Jr. of Hanover; nine nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Arta Lou Schreiner. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ramona Rapp; a brother, Jack Foltz; and three nephews.
