The Clinton Herald Thursday August 9, 1900 p. 6 The Fulton Journal has the following relative to the death of James McGraith at Mercy hospital: After lingering for eleven weeks between life and death, as prostrated by a stroke of paralysis, James McGraith died at Mercy hospital in Lyons Monday, August 6, at 11 o'clock a.m. He never spoke after being stricken down, although he was conscious and understood during the greater portion of his long death, what was said to hom. He was a native of the county of Clare, Ireland, and came to this country in 1846. Had he lived until August 15 he would have seen his 77th brithday. The funeral services will be held at the Catholic church in this city, Wednesday, August 8, at 8u o'clock a.m., and by carriages to Round Grove cemetery for burial.
