The Clinton Herald Saturday January 31, 1920 p. 6 Jutie C. Shoecraft, daughter of Dr. L.W. McIntosh and Enice G. passed away at Orlando, Florida, Jan. 14, 1920. She was born at Marlboro, Conn., August, 1840: Removing in childhood to Vernon, N.Y., which was her home until her marriage to Simon Shoecraft in August 1864. He had gone west a few years previously and Clinton had been their home since that early day. Both were active members of the Methodist church and always interested and helpful in its upbuilding and advancement. Mr. Shoecraft died in Dec. 10, 1912, soon after the death of their only son Lucius McIntosh Shoecraft. Mrs. Shoecraft had been frail for many years and a milder winter climate was sought for her benefit. She enjoyed the sunshine and flowers and seemed happy to be among them. A stroke of paralysis came suddenly from which she could not rally and passed on to be with the loved ones she had so longed to see. None knew her but to love her and her large circle of friends bear testimony to her affectionate happy disposition and her trust in her Heavenly Father, "who doeth all things well" gave her peace and rest. One daughter Lettie Shoecraft remains and a grandson, Robert Shoecraft of Erie, Ill. Her remains were placed in a vault and will be brought north in the spring to rest beside her husband and son.
