Chris Hardersen, 91, of Route 1, died Friday in St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in Schultz-McGinnis Funeral Home with the Rev. Lowell Hohensee, Faith Lutheran Church, Calamus, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Hardersen was born Sept. 24, 1894, near Elvira, to Thomas and Catherine Carstensen Hardersen. He married Clara Nielsen, Feb. 26, 1919, at Clinton. She died in 1974.
He was an Army Veteran of World War I, serving in France, and farmed in the Camanche and DeWitt areas, retiring in 1960. Mr. Hardersen was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Calamus, Clinton County Farm Bureau, and a 67-year member of Eugene McMannis Post No. 238, DeWitt American Legion.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pat (Lucille) O'Connell of DeWitt; a son, Edwin, of Davenport; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William of Clinton, and Edward of Camanche.
He was preceded in death by a sister, three brothers and two half brothers.
