Hartman, Arnold A.

FULTON, Ill. — Arnold A. Hartman, 90, of Fulton, died Monday at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton.Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Rev. Jennifer Henry, Senior Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton, will be officiating.Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until time of the funeral service, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, Ill., with graveside military honors.He was born September 11, 1917, in Thomson, Ill., the son of Henry L. and Anna Traum Hartman. He was educated in the Thomson school system.He married Grace E. Zuidema on June 28, 1946, in Dubuque. He was employed by area farmers until entering the U.S. Army during World War II, where he served in the United States and South Pacific. Following his military service, he was employed as a carpenter. He later was employed by Herman Nelson, Morrison, Drives Inc., Fulton, and Clinton Engineering, Clinton. His hobbies included carpentry and the construction of his own home. He also enjoyed making black walnut clocks, woodcrafts, gardening and raising mini-corn to sell. He is survived by his wife, Grace; one son, Rex Hartman of Fulton; three granddaughters: Lindsay Hannan of Moline, Ill.; Melanie Purcell of Clinton; Rachel Purcell of Clinton; six great-grandchildren: Aaron Hasenmiller, Cade Hannan, Madison Burman, Vaughn, Lea and Marlee Purcell; five sisters: Mrs. Lucille VenHuizen of Clinton; Mrs. Helen Kramer of Sterling, Ill.; Betty (Albert) Notz of Mt. Carroll, Ill.; Luella (John) Garrison of Sterling; Mrs. Darlene Vos of Morrison, Ill.; two brothers: Norman (Gilda) Hartman of Fulton and Norris (Shirley) Hartman of Mt. Carroll, Ill. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Purcell-Weaver, and nine brothers: Willard, Leonard, Floyd, Virgil, Ivan, Warren, Raymond, Levell and Henry Hartman.A memorial in his name has been established.
