CLINTON — David C. Miller, age 64, of Clinton, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 10th, at the Prince of Peace Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Clinton. The Rev. Anthony Herold will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service time Monday at the church with a sharing of memories at 9:30. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Mike Miller, Brian Bauer, Phillip Cartee, Jon Kuiper, Eric Plaut and Keith Behne. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. David was born on June 8, 1943, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Ruth Stanley Miller. David was an employee of the Skyline Center. David has been a member of the L’Arche community since 1993 and a member of the Prince of Peace Parish. David transformed all who he encountered with his gift of welcome, which always included hugs and kisses, along with the gifts of acceptance and unconditional love. He enjoyed stuffed animals, hats, pins, the Iowa Hawkeyes and going to Hardees and on other outings with his friends from The Arch. David will be remembered as someone who never met a stranger, who was a testament of God’s love. David is survived by five brothers, Joseph (Ceci) Miller of Blairesville, GA, Bruce Miller of Clinton, Richard Miller of DeWitt, Michael (Karen) Miller of Clinton and Robert Miller of Clinton; a sister, Patricia Cartee of Arizona; a girlfriend and all the members of the L’Arche community.
